The AP reports today that Sam’s Club is cutting 11,200 jobs, roughly 10% of their work force. Most of the jobs are from their demonstration department. According to the story, most of these positions are part time jobs. Honestly I was surprised by the job cuts and the news that they had closed 10 underperforming stores are the beginning of January. You just don’t expect news like that from anything connected with Walmart. Looks like they need to step it up, but not at the cost of jobs, even part time ones.
