Delaware GOP Convention 2009

Melody and I went to our first GOP state convention today. There really wasn’t anything exciting happening  as the event centers around party business in the off-election years. Well, there was one thing floating around that was/wasn’t news, the “Castle For Senate” stickers.

These events are great for getting around and talking to people. Melody and I ran into Christine O’Donnell, who may not have been real happy with the Castle stickers. Rep. Dave Wilson chatted with us for a few moments. There was a Laurel minister present that I haven’t seen in maybe three years (yes, we live in the same town yet never see each other except at an event 2 hours away from home). A couple of bloggers from a well known and respected Delaware blog were present (yes, I’m kissing up). Former US Senate candidate Tim Smith and I discussed technology.

Reading over the last paragraph, it would appear that I was name dropping. Oh well, think what you will.

With 2010 being an election year, next year’s convention will be different, but for us this appeared to be a good introduction to a party convention.

What? You petitioning for an opening? 😀

Drop a note to Dave. The rate is $20/post, but make it payable to us.

  2. Wow, Maria told me $50/post cash only. Are you having a sale?
