The Delaware State Police are looking for two men who shot a 29 year-old man during a robbery. The police responded to a reported shooting at Chipmans Pond Boat Ramp located off Shiloh Church Road on Wednesday, May 6. The man exited the car of a female acquaintance then was confronted by two men who robbed him and shot him in the neck. The 29 year-old was taken to Nanticoke Hospital where he is recovering. The female in the car fled the scene before the police arrived. According to DelmarvaNow:

The first suspect has been described as a black male, 5’10 – 6’, 150 – 180lbs, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The second suspect has been described as a black male, 5’06 – 5’10”, 150 – 180 lbs wearing a long sleeve black shirt and blue jeans.

If you can provide any information regarding this case, call Troop 4 at (302) 856-5850 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.

Obviously we don’t know if those involved were Laurel residents, but it is another example of crime in the area. You have to wonder if the unknown female driver was involved in the assault or just afraid for her own safety. Either way, right now it is unknown if she has been identified. That fact by itself makes me suspect the former.

The story links are on DelmarvaNow and WBOC.

I just posted two Delmar Police Press releases on my blog, one about a stabbing and the second, the robbery of a convience store, again all involved were black males.
