Tonight on ABC’s Nightline, there will be a debate on the existence of Satan. There will be four guests, two on each side of the question. Mark Driscoll is one of the panelists. He is the pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. In the world of ministry he’s an odd duck. I’ve got links to two different news stories about him: one on ABC and the other on the New York Times. Both stories point out some of the outragious aspects of his ministry but none the less the articles are a good read. It’s funny that in both articles the “sex” aspects of his preaching are highlighted, particularly his comments about The Big “M”.

My pastor friend in Texas pointed out a link on ABC’s website previewing tonight’s show.

While I don’t see that the existance of Satan is a hot topic, I will probably put it on the DVR. Curiousity has me in it’s grasp.

UPDATE: The Nightline video is online now.

UPDATE 2: Mark Driscoll’s blog has his unaired final statement.
