It appears that Laurel has another old grocery store building that is getting new life. The first building that got new life was the old French’s, now housing Value Furniture. Back in the day that building was a Safeway. Howard from Delmar Dustpan found this piece of Laurel history (from the Bi-State Weekly February 10, 1961):
In a similar fashion the old Acme/Food City is coming to life again:
I have heard that it is supposed to be a bowling alley. Good to see some recreation coming to town. It’s even better to see one less empty building.

Oh, you gotta like that! Wonder how many lanes they can fit into that place?
Much as I like bowling at Seaford Lanes, it would be nice to have a house like the old Strikemaster Lanes had because I believe 32 lanes is the minimum house requirement to host a PBA Regional tournament (as Strikemaster used to.) Plus it would be closer to me here.
