This is just awful:

Two [Laurel] residents face reckless endangerment charges after they allegedly forced a 2-year-old boy to hang-off a speeding truck until he fell, police said.

A 2-year-old??

A witness told police that the boy would hold on to the truck hitch while 24-year-old Christopher Swank accelerated and then the boy would fall onto the gravel driveway. The boy’s mother, 20-year-old Ashley Bell, was a passenger in the car.

The child’s mother was a passenger in the car?? What in the world?? According to WILM Newsradio, the “mother” and Swank (whoever he is) have done this before. Bell has been charged with six felony counts and has been incarcerated in lieu of $30,000 bond. Swank was charged with one felony count and has been incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Articles sited are here, here, and here. If you want to see a picture of Swank, it’s on this article.

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that “alcohol was involved.”

    I sure hope it was.

  2. Alcohol or drugs, I would agree. One would hope that they weren’t in the right state of mind.

Whatever causes the parents to allow this to happen, it’s unacceptable! PERIOD
