Another Candidate For Governor

The Delaware Republican Party has had a terrible time getting someone to run for governor.

Two time candidate Bill Lee sent out an email this week announcing that he will not seek the office again.

Mike Protack wants the job, but truthfully he wants any high profile elected office. From what I can tell, he doesn’t have any fans at the party headquarters, so they aren’t really happy to see him come around again. Protack wants the job but he hasn’t filed all the official paperwork yet.

Dave Graham apparently wants to call the governor’s mansion home. This week he ponied up the filing fee and all the official paperwork. Graham ran for the governor’s seat in 2004, coming in third in the Republican primary. I don’t know much about the man but according to this article about him on the News Journal’s site he works as an accountant and works for Del DOT. Isn’t Del DOT one of the problems that needs to be fixed by the next governor? My first thoughts are skeptical that someone from inside Del DOT would be able to reform it.

Personally, I’m glad at least some Republican wants the job.
