Mike Huckabee is #1!!

The most recent poll results conducted by the Wilmington (DE) Republican Region show that Mike Huckabee has jumped ahead in the poll and now holds the number one slot over the socially regressive Rudy Giuliani.

Mike Huckabee 25%
Rudy Giuliani 21%
Ron Paul 15%
Mitt Romney 13%
Fred Thompson 11%
John McCain 6%
Newt Gingrich 2%
Duncan Hunter 1%
Alan Keyes <1%
Tom Tancredo <1%

Here are the numbers broken down by county:

Sussex County

Rudy Giuliani 11%
John McCain 10%
Ron Paul 6%
Newt Gingrich 6%
Duncan Hunter 1%
Tom Tancredo <1%

Kent County
Mike Huckabee 19%

New Castle County
Rudy Giuliani 26%

Ron Paul 17%
Mitt Romney 11%
Fred Thompson 8%
John McCain 6%
Newt Gingrich <1%
Duncan Hunter <1%
Alan Keyes <1%
Tom Tancredo <1%

I had reprinted the numbers has they were in the press release. I sent a note to Tom Ross from the Wilmington Republican Region to get some clarity on the numbers for Kent County. As of yesterday, he was looking into it. An update will be made to this post once the numbers are clarified. It completely left my mind to tell him to remove Newt from the poll, as he bowed out of the race a while back.

In light of their leftward ways, I was surprised to see Huckabees’s numbers so high in New Castle County, lifting him to a statistical tie with Giuliani. Hopefully Huckabee’s numbers will remain up. I was surprised to see Ron Paul over Mitt Romney in the poll. I guess his supporters have invaded. Agh!! Folks, Ron Paul is all wrong on the war.

From the press release:

The Presidential Poll was conducted via e-mail between December 4, 2007 and December 6, 2007 with approximately 500 respondents. The majority of respondents are registered Republicans in Delaware, some Democrats, Independents, and those registered with other parties also participated.

Respondents were given a choice of candidates in alphabetical order. The candidate list includes all registered Republicans who have announced their candidacy for the Presidency as well as those who have formed exploratory committees. Not included were those individuals who have publicly stated they will not run for President in the 2008 election.

Anyone interested in participating in future polls should send their e-mail address to tomross_de@hotmail.com

Look for the next tracking poll on January 8, with results released January 11.

You can view the last poll at this link or at betterdelaware.com. I hope my fellow conservatives are participating in the poll. If you are not, send Tom an email request to sign up and tell him you heard about it on That’s Elbert With An E (shameless plug).

I for one do not want my tax money spent training the next generation of terrorists. I am also not willing to hand terrorists victory by destroying American values for negligible gains in security.

A 5 mph national speed limit would save lives, but I don’t want that either. If you want to destroy America in order to save a few lives, then you are aiding and abetting the terrorists.

Huckabee at least is a moral and upright individual, but I am appalled that Guiliani is still polling ahead of Ron Paul at this late date. He’d be at home in France but has no place in American politics.
