Bin Laden: It’s About Religion

The latest rant from Osama Bin Laden is yet another example of how he sees this as a religious war. We are not getting that aspect of this whole conflict. Whether or not you believe it, our entire western civilization, even with its depravity, is “Christianized”; it has in one way or another been influenced by Christian thought and practice. Those jihadists recognize that and thus war with us. In Bin Laden’s recent video, to me he comes across more like an Islamic Evangelist, calling us to embrace Islam.

For me the funny line in the whole thing was this:

There are no taxes in Islam, but rather there is a limited Zakaat [alms] totaling only 2.5%.

Yep, he’s appealing to our pocketbooks, trying to get us lower taxes folks on the Jihad boat. To me, it reads like a used car salesman’s pitch or maybe a mortgage broker. Hey, it’s a better deal than working from January to May-ish to pay all the taxes we have!
