American Idol Winner
And the winner is…..
David Cook!!!
Man, he rocked tonight with ZZ Top playing “Sharp Dressed Man.”
Guess I’d better start saving my pennies for his CD.

I’ve only watched two seasons of American Idol. I’ve really enjoyed this season. The final six contestants were very good this year. Tonight was the final competition, putting David Cook and David Archuleta against each other. At the end of the show it would seem that the judges preferred Archuleta. I couldn’t disagree more. David Cook was great tonight, and he’s getting my vote. We will check on it tomorrow night. Either way, both Davids will have albums out within the year.
If you noticed on the blogroll, I’ve added a category for “Weather” seeing as WMDT has a weather blog. I love the idea, and they are off to a decent start. A recent post lists the 2008 Atlantic Hurricane names. The author of the post, which appears to be Ashley Meenan, writes:
Every time I look at the list of Hurricane names, I get upset that a hurricane has never been named after me. I think Hurricane Ashley would be a great one!
Some names come to my mind that I would add to the list, but someone might be offended so I will refrain. However “Hurricane Elbert” or “Hurricane With An E” would be nice.
I didn’t watch much Saturday Night Live growing up, and not even now, even though I’m not sure I’ve grown up yet. Most recently I saw Mike Huckabee on SNL, which was really great. And I loved Lazy Sunday from a couple of years ago. Anyway, I heard about the cowbell skit on SNL but never saw it until I followed the link over at Hube’s site. I’ve watched it more times than I remember. Well, one of my sons found a new video game in the tradition of Guitar Hero and inspired by SNL that would be sure to drive my wife crazy (and maybe me too):
I’m game for new ways to minister to people.
This is from a parody news site, still…
Mike Huckabee has his first television ad. Featuring Chuck Norris, it’s a funny ad. I thought of Michael Steele’s ads when I saw this.

Stuff Elbert like… err, likes.
Elbert lives in the thriving metropolis of Laurel, Delaware, with his family. If anyone else posts on this blog, they may or may not live in Laurel. It is up to them where they decide to call home. You will find posts on here about almost anything. For the record, Elbert is politically conservative. His Christian theology is generally conservative, also some would disagree. He hold to the foundations of the faith, and on the theology, he is a mash-up of Wesleyan-influenced Pentecostal/Charismatic thought. He’s not “old school” Pentecostal/Charismatic though.
