The Wilmington (DE) Republican Region released the results of their latest Presidential poll for the state of Delaware. Here are the results:
Rudy Giuliani 31%
Fred Thompson 25%
Mitt Romney 11%
Ron Paul 7%
Mike Huckabee 7%
John McCain 5%
Newt Gingrich 4%
Duncan Hunter 2%
Tom Tancredo 1%
Sam Brownback 1%

Broken down by county:
| Sussex | Kent | New Castle |

Fred Thompson 32% Rudy Giuliani 29% Mitt Romney 15% Ron Paul 9% John McCain 6% Mike Huckabee 4% Duncan Hunter 3% Tom Tancredo <1% |
Rudy Giuliani 38% Fred Thompson 20% Mitt Romney 11% Ron Paul 8% Mike Huckabee 7% John McCain 4% Duncan Hunter 1% Tom Tancredo <1% |
I’ve noted in here those candidates that have dropped out of the race by marking through their names as well as marking through those that are not listed on Wikipedia’s list of Republican candidates. Missing from the list is recently announced candidate Alan Keyes. Hopefully they will clean up the list by the next survey. Fred Thompson wins in Kent and Sussex counties while Rudy Giuliani takes New Castle county which pushed him into the top spot in the state.
Details from the emailed press release:
The Presidential Poll was conducted via e-mail between October 16, 2007 and Otober 18, 2007 with approximately 500 respondents. The Majority of respondents are registered Republicans in Delaware, some Democrats, Independents, and those registered with other parties also participated.
Respondents were given a choice of candidates in alphabetical order. The candidate list includes all registered Republicans who have announced their candidacy for the Presidency as well as those who have formed exploratory committees. Not included were those individuals who have publicly stated they will not run for President in the 2008 election.
Anyone interested in participating in future polls should send their e-mail address to tomross_de@hotmail.com
Look for the next tracking poll on November 6, with results released November 9.
A website has been setup that will list the results from previous polls: betterdelaware.com (this is how the address was posted in the email press release). I’ve been posting the results as well, so if you’d like to look around on here, feel free to do so. Another site worth bookmarking or dropping in your favorites is Wikipedia’s article on the 2008 Presidential Election, an evolving article reflecting the latest news.
I would encourage my conservative friends from Delaware to send Tom Ross an email and participate in the survey.
